Planning Approval secured for major Edenbrook residential development

Gravis Planning has secured planning permission for a major residential development comprising 211 units including a mix of detached, semi-detached, townhouses and apartments.

'Edenbrook' is a high quality residential development proposed by McAleer & Rushe at lands off the Newry Road in Banbridge within walking distance of the town centre.

Total investment to deliver this scheme will be approximately £30m with 200 jobs supported through construction and the supply chain. The completed scheme will also add around £280,000 in rates payable every year which will help deliver essential local services.

The development, whilst mainly consisting of family homes, will help to meet housing demand in the local area for a range of potential buyers. Once houses are occupied, the increased footfall will bring additional revenue for Banbridge town centre businesses including restaurants, cafes and independent retailers. Regeneration of this long term vacant site will contribute to the family orientated community in this part of Banbridge.

Approval was granted by the Planning Committee of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council at the monthly meeting in October 2019.
