Strategic Planning secures solar farm consent at Dale Farm site

Strategic Planning secures solar farm consent at Dale Farm site

Strategic Planning has delivered planning consent for a 4.9MW solar farm adjacent to the Dale Farm creamery in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone.

Approved by Mid Ulster District Council, permission for the 37 acre site was secured in less than 4 months.  The proposed solar farm will help reduce energy costs at Dale Farm's Dunmanbridge creamery, which is the largest milk processing site in Northern Ireland.

The project will also help Dale Farm, who employs over 1,100 people, increase their security of electricity supply and improve sustainable credentials with their customers.

In managing the planning application Strategic Planning successfully addressed issues regarding residential amenity, visual amenity, landscape character and traffic movements.
