Retail Capacity Study: Omagh Town Centre Masterplan

We were part of the team commissioned by the Department of Social Development to prepare a Masterplan setting out a vision for Omagh Town Centre over the next 15 years.

Omagh is the largest and most central town in the county of Tyrone, with Strabane the nearest comparable provincial town, a thirty-minute drive away, and Derry, the nearest city, a fifty minute drive north.

  • High dependence on sectors that have limited growth sectors
  • Accessibility and competitiveness of town centre
  • Lack of many of the leading retail names, in comparison with other towns
  • Retail vacancy rates below the NI Average
  • Maintaining the Local economy and Town Centre Business

Our Involvement

We prepared the Retail Capacity Study to determine the quality of existing retailing and the scope for future retailing in Omagh over the timeframe of the Omagh Updated Town Centre masterplan period.
