Bedford Square Development Phase 2 to include the conservation, alteration, refurbishment and extension to the listed Ewart Building for office use and a 17 Storey new build mixed use development, with ground floor retail, offices above and associated basement car parking; and completion of a new civic square. This £50m investment from McAleer and Rushe is estimated to create 1,800 new jobs and 700 construction jobs.
Instructed prior to consideration of an amended scheme by the Belfast City Council Planning Committee in July 2016 with a remit of explaining the extent of the conservation aspect of the proposal to elected representatives as well as reinforcing the economic significance of an approval.
