Farmleigh Residential Development

Thank you for taking the time to view this information on the revised planning application for 97 new homes off the Ballygudden Road in Eglinton.

The development is proposed by The McGinnis Group, a family-run firm who have been building houses of the highest quality since 1978.

As a locally based company, we want to ensure that the Farmleigh residential development respects the history of the village and evolution of Eglinton as well as the surrounding residential areas.

An extensive Pre-Application Community Consultation process on this proposed development was previously carried out, including public events in May 2016 and June 2017 in the Eglinton Community Hall.

A planning application was subsequently submitted to Derry and Strabane District Council in September 2017 and has been progressing through the system since then.

The planning application was recommended for approval but deferred a number of times at planning committee and the applicant then decided to lodge a non-determination appeal with the Planning Appeals Commission (PAC). The PAC decided not to determine the application and returned it to Council for a final decision. Revised plans and further information, as detailed in our community update, will be submitted to help inform a final decision by Council.

We are taking this opportunity to re-consult with local residents on recent revisions to the proposal.

In line with current public health advice, information is being provided online to explain key elements of the revised planning application and to ensure that the local community is kept informed throughout.
