Carnalea Platform Extension

The Carnalea Platform Wall Renewal Project focused on works at a bridge, which is east of Carnalea Railway Station. This line is one of the most heavily trafficked on the NI Railways network, with 90 passenger trains on a daily basis.

The constructed works replaced the existing retaining wall structure at the bridge running over Station Road and Killaire Road with new bespoke pre-cast concrete units enhancing safety standards for passengers Translink staff and residents.

OUR INVOLVEMENT

Gravis informed local residents about the works through a series of letter drops, briefed relevant elected representatives in the North Down area, worked with the Environmental Health in Ards and North Down Borough Council and delivered two public webinars in advance of the works.

The work was successfully completed with no complaints as a result of all key stakeholders being notified about the essential nature of the project.
