Lidl at High Street Mall

The proposal was for a brand-new Lidl to become the anchor store at High Street Mall in Portadown. The proposed development at this strategic site includes the reconfiguration of existing retail units as well as demolition of some existing retail units and part of the existing mall to create an outside plaza.

The proposal involves internal and external alterations with new facades and extended pedestrian entrances to the car park and Woodhouse Street. Amendments of the access, reconfiguration of the service yard, new loading bay or dock and service ramp, with amended customer ramps and ancillary works were all included.

The development represents a significant investment of up to £6million, creating 20 permanent retail jobs. A further 100 jobs were also supported during the planning and construction phases.
