We delivered planning approval to demolish the neighbouring existing school campus of Castle Tower school (which was relocating to a new site) and its redevelopment to allow Braidside Primary School to move into a new state-of-the-art integrated primary and nursery school. The Braidside proposal represented a significant investment of over £5 million at the Frys Road site, consisting of new facilities such as classrooms, library, play areas and a walled garden.
The proposal for included a ‘drop off’ area, bus ‘drop off’, 40 car parking spaces and overspill car park all within the proposed site. This was in order to alleviate traffic/parking issues along the Frys Road.
We were the lead planning agents on the scheme and provided planning and environmental advice on the proposal; as well as managing the application through the planning process from preparing supporting planning information to decision. This involved extensive Pre-Application Community Consultation (PACC) in relation to the proposal, including a variety of individual meetings and presentations with the community and other stakeholders as well as a well-attended public event.
