Edenderry Industrial Estate

A new-build project for a mixed use scheme comprising 232 residential units and office/business units on industrial zoned lands.

Issues Encountered

  • Viewed as a sensitive political location, the design and layout had to reflect the interface nature of the site
  • Although not a listed building, the proposal had to retain and enhance the historical features of Edenderry Mill.
  • Identified as industrial land within the area plan, it was demonstrated to the Department that the proposal for residential and office business units compiled with Planning Policy

Our Involvement

We undertook research to demonstrate the appropriateness of the project and direct and regular liaison with Planning Service and Heritage specialists to ensure that the proposed new building would respect the setting of Edenderry Mill as well as the surrounding landscape.

We also undertook a series of meetings with political representatives to ensure that any community queries were answered and concerns were taken on board.
