David is one of the most experienced and highly respected public affairs and communications professionals in Northern Ireland. As a Managing Partner in Gravis Planning, he leads and oversees all aspects of stakeholder engagement and communications activity for clients; and along with fellow Managing Director Richard Bowman is responsible for the day-to-day running and strategic direction of the business.
Over the last 15 years, he has advised public, private and third sector clients from across the UK and Ireland on a range of projects in sectors including energy, residential, commercial, retail, infrastructure, education and healthcare development.
Prior to joining the private sector in 2002, he was Director of Communications for the UUP in the 1996-1998 talks that led to the Good Friday Agreement. He then worked as a Special Adviser to the former First Minister, David Trimble, in Stormont between 1998-2002, playing a central role in establishing the new political institutions and devolved government in Northern Ireland.
