Ryan graduated from Ulster University with a BSc Honours degree in Geography.
Since joining the private sector in 2006, he has worked on a wide range of development proposals for private and public sector clients covering residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, tourism, education, energy and public infrastructure projects.
He has substantial experience in managing and submitting a wide variety of major planning applications, appeals, feasibility reports, planning supporting statements, design and access statements and certificates of lawful use and development. Ryan also has considerable experience in the preparation of Area Plan submissions and has represented clients at Area Plan Public Inquiries.
In more recent years, Ryan has project managed numerous multi-disciplinary teams in the preparation of Environmental Statements and Planning Applications for major EIA development proposals across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Before entering the private sector, Ryan began his career with DOE Planning Service, where he held various posts within Development Plan, Enforcement and Development Control gaining significant experience across many different facets of Town and Country Planning. During this time he represented the Department’s interests at numerous planning appeals, local council meetings, and many other public forums.
