Crawfordsburn Primary School
The new Crawfordsburn Primary School will replace the existing primary school in Crawfordsburn with a bespoke, purpose-built facility to the highest educational standards including enhanced parking and drop-off arrangements and hard and soft play provision.
As pupil numbers have grown at the school, the proposed new modern 8-classroom facility will deal with these rising numbers as well as meet the standards set out in the Department of Education’s Building Handbook. The proposal also addresses the traffic concerns in the area by placing the new build school to the rear of the site allowing for greater capacity for traffic at peak times.
Gravis Planning has worked as part of the project team from pre-application stage until planning permission was obtained in June 2022. Throughout this time, we managed the progression of the application through to its arrival at Ards and North Down Borough Council's Planning Committee, including dealing with a number of statutory consultees.
We also managed the pre-application community consultation process and produced a Pre-Application Community Consultation (PACC) Report which was submitted along with the planning application. The consultation period involved an online webpage, dedicated project voicemail and email service. The PACC Report provided an overview of the consultation process and highlighted the feedback received from key stakeholders and local residents.
