Gravis Planning secured planning permission for the extension of the existing New Park Care Centre in Newpark, Co. Dublin, which will allow the care home to expand by 29 bedrooms and provide designated dementia and Alzheimer units to enhance the specialist care provided at the facility.

The site is located within the Green Belt area of the Fingal CDP and required a strong planning rationale to demonstrate both that the proposal was a reasonable intensification of the existing use, and would be of significant benefit in contributing to the quality of the care environment.
TODD Architects designed a high-quality scheme which seamlessly integrated with the existing facility and surrounding area. The development will provide additional treatment, lounge and garden spaces, new car and cycle parking provision, an expanded kitchen and laundry area, and new staff changing and dining facilities.
The approved expansion will allow more residents with unique and complex needs to live in a homely, personalised and safe environment, and receive the specialist care they deserve.
