Planning approval obtained for tourist accommodation and advertising on behalf of Royal Portrush Golf Club ahead of The 153rd Open

2 April 2025

We are pleased, on behalf of Royal Portrush Golf Club, to have secured planning permission for a Change of Use to an existing 2-storey building at Dunluce Road to become self-catering tourist accommodation, as the club prepares to welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists to The 153rd Open this summer.

This tourist accommodation is located in a prime location overlooking the Club’s Championship Dunluce Course, which offers a stunning links golf landscape looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean, as well enjoying unique access to Portrush’s iconic White Rocks Beach.

In addition to securing planning permission for the Change of Use, we also secured advertising consents for 2 no. freestanding entrance signs to form part of the development.

We are delighted to continue to be part of Royal Portrush’s preparations for The Open, having already delivered the planning approvals necessary for the Club to undertake the course improvements needed to welcome golf’s most watched tournament back to Portrush for the second time in 6 years.
