Gravis colleagues were delighted to attend the operational opening of Belfast Grand Central Station this week, a landmark project representing a £340 million investment on the part of Translink. This will be a game-changer for public transport in Northern Ireland and a catalyst for regeneration and investment in Belfast.
Having supported Translink with communications and stakeholder engagement on this flagship project, it was brilliant to stand in the concourse of Belfast Grand Central Station to see its fantastic facilities firsthand and experience the positive atmosphere.
Speakers including the Minister for Infrastructure, John O'Dowd MLA and Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Micky Murray, highlighted the benefits of the new station and noted the regenerative impact it will have on Belfast and the wider region, both socially and economically.
Translink Chief Executive, Chris Conway, praised the work of Translink staff and that of the staff in the many supporting organisations who helped to deliver the project. He noted that Belfast Grand Central Station's operational opening is just the first milestone of many for the project, with full completion and public realm improvements to come.
We are proud to be a part of this project and look forward to continuing to support Translink on it in the coming months.
