We are pleased to have received planning approval from Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council’s Planning Committee, on behalf of LCC Group Ltd., for a new petrol filling station (PFS) and retail units adjacent to the Sprucefield Centre on the outskirts of Lisburn.
The application site is located within Sprucefield Regional Shopping Centre as designated by the draft Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan (dBMAP). The proposed development comprises a PFS with an ancillary retail unit, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, a drive thru restaurant, a drive thru coffee pod and a drive thru automated car wash, in addition to self-service car wash / vacuum bays and car / HGV parking.
It will provide additional capacity for motorists seeking to refuel or recharge their vehicles along what is one of the busiest and most strategically important corridors across the entire road network in Northern Ireland, whilst creating complementing the many retail outlets which occupy the Sprucefield Centre and its surroundings. It will also provide those using public transport via the nearby Park and Ride facility with better amenities for their vehicles.
The proposal will also provide approximately 85 jobs during construction and approximately 60 jobs when operational, representing an investment of £7 million in the area. We look forward to seeing its development in the coming months.
