Planning approval was obtained to change the use of the ground and first floor of an existing retail unit in Belfast City Centre for use as a café by Greggs. Consent was also obtained for Greggs to display their advertising on the subject premises.
We prepared three planning applications to obtain the necessary, separate permissions required to allow Greggs to trade from the subject premises; a change of use, listed building consent and advertising consent. This included a detailed policy assessment and Design and Access Statement to address the various planning policy issues. We also arranged political support of the proposal through a process of lobbying relevant Councillors. The applications were subsequently approved in June 2016.
