Objection to the Rose Energy Article 31 full planning application for biomass fuelled power plant to primarily dispose of chicken litter.
We were appointed by CALNI to object to the Rose Energy proposal and to encourage the Department to refuse the scheme outright or at least hold a public inquiry so that the application can be analysed in an open and transparent manner.
As well as providing regular updates and planning advice to the objectors on the progress of the major planning application, we lodged a series of planning objections based on planning policy and technical aspects of the Rose Energy application. Flaws in the applicants Environmental Statement were also identified and brought to the Departments attention and we were commissioned by the objectors to prepare an independent site selection assessment for a biomass fuelled powerplant.
We also led a significant public relations and lobbying campaign in tandem with the planning objection campaign to inform and gain the support of the wider public and Political representatives in objecting to the Rose energy proposal.
